Well, that’s not what I truly believe. Do you want to know what I truly believe? Warren Buffett for Dictator of the United States of America! That’s right…Dictator!


Why? Because it looks to me like this country is broken and needs a Dictator to come in and fix it. I have no confidence in the Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Tea Party, etc. The American Government needs an overhaul and the only way I can see that happening is by galvanizing the political parties on the same agenda! However, it must be the RIGHT agenda and our current political process just doesn’t get it.

America needs to be run like a quality company. Just like a Qualcomm or an Apple Inc for example. Those companies run Lean and Mean and take care of their Employees. They are multi-national and yet they are centralized and American to the core. Do they have Healthcare for their employees…Hell Yeah! Are they great places to work? You betcha. Do you have to Perform? Absolutely. No free-rides. However, these companies are successful and moving in the right direction.

Is America successful? Well, it sure has been for the pat history. However, when you answer the question: “is America headed in the right direction?” I believe the answer is obviously NO! My guess is that the country at least goes into a double-dip recession (and that is the best situation). However, in my opinion, America may fall off into another Depression. In economics, a depression is a sustained, long-term downturn in economic activity in one or more economies. It is a more severe downturn than a recession, which is seen by some economists as part of the modern business cycle, Depression (economics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia .

What is the Fix? Well, the country needs to have Leadership! In my opinion, Obama is not showing any leadership. Instead he is going on television and running for President every chance he gets. Just like today’s (August 8, 2011) speech about the downlisting of the country’s debt rating from AAA to AA+. Did he provide leadership and direction? Did he call Congress back in session to fix this mess? No and No! Instead, he said the same ole things that he has said for weeks now. Pointing fingers at the other side and saying “we” need to fix this. Well, the truth of the matter is that he was elected to bring the country together and fix the mess that Bush created in the economy by taking America to war against Iraq. We can’t stand the Trillion dollars Bush spent. We certainly can’t stand the Trillions that Obama and the Democratic Congress is spending.

The days of handouts to the unemployed, the illegals crossing the border, the Wealthy getting by without paying taxes needs to S-T-O-P! How is it going to stop unless the country has great leadership? Therefore, I say let Buffett take over as Dictator for 4 Years. Then, let’s elect an entirely New Legislative branch of the government. Elect and appoint a new Judicial branch as well. That is what this country needs to be great again and to have something to pass down to our grandchildren.

Very well said, Someone is thinking. Bring all the Soldiers home to protect our borders. And run this country like a business that all want to work for.

I agree we need leadership. But I would worry about Mr. Buffet. His age for a couple of reasons. First the chance of him passing away is one I could do without. It could mess up any momentum of Charles D's idea and create more hurdles. Secondly and actually more importantly, Warren Buffet may be one great man over many decades, I personally think some of the ideas he's had since Obama became President are as "feel good" as any politician. Honestly I believe 20 years younger would be perfect. All do respect to Mr. Buffet, but he sounds like he's going down "sentimental avenue" more and more. Charles D. you are right on the money when speaking of the leadership and everyone coming together. We have to get rid of the class warfare which Obama uses all the time which proves he is not fit for the job.

I don't disagree and Warren Buffett may not be the best guy for the job (although remember that Reagan was no spring-chicken either.) Anyway, my ranting is only that the country needs L-E-A-D-E-R-S-H-I-P and so far I don't see it at all. And I don't mean just Obama...there is NO Republican, NO Democrat, No Independent, and NO Tea Party Leader.

There are a lot of mud-slingers but that is all I see. Where is the Leader that brings the Country together and works together to fix this mess?

Where is an Energy Policy for this Country?

Where is a Cohesive plan for Banking?

Where is the common sense to get Business moving forward and Hiring again?

Where is Tax Reform?

I hope every politician gets fired. Every single one. Every Republican, Every Democrat, Everyone.

You pick him; Buffett, Trump, Dimon, Rick Santelli (CNBC), I don't really care but I think a no-nonsense business person will do a much better job getting this country back on track than any of the politicians that are currently in the mix.
